Product details
The 1995-2000 Toyota Tercel is the approved application for the CTY160-KP Kontrol Pro kit. Four assembled coilovers are sprung at 6.7 kg/mm in the front and 6.2 kg/mm in the rear, which keeps the two ends close together in rate for this car.
Each damper offers 36 damping levels from its own knob, so the feel can be set for everyday commuting or for a livelier drive. The adjustable lower mount allows ride height changes while keeping full shock travel, and the aluminum collars and spring perches are machined from 6061-T6 billet. A dust boot protects each damper seal and carries an integrated bump stop.
Set height at the lower mount, lock every collar with both spanner wrenches, and start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff before making changes. The Paseo from 1992 to 1999, and the Starlet with EP70, EP81 and EP92 front-drive chassis codes from 1985 to 1999, are also listed for this kit.
Supported features
Every KSport coilover offers 36 levels of damping adjustment. Set full soft for comfortable daily driving, or firm up the compression and rebound for the track.
Applications with a pillowball upper mount often include camber adjustment — useful for dialing in alignment after lowering, and it removes the need for a separate camber kit.
Applications for MacPherson-strut suspension typically use a pillowball upper mount. The bearing design resists the noise common to other coilovers, and steering feel and response improve.
Most Kontrol Pro applications adjust ride height independently of shock and spring travel, so you can set your stance without risking bottoming out the shock.
Oil and gas stay separated within the cylinder. Compared with twin-tube construction, a monotube design dissipates heat faster and more evenly, allows finer damping adjustment, and resists aeration and cavitation.
Mounts, collars, and spring perches are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum for a lightweight, durable, corrosion-resistant build. Steel shock bodies are zinc-plated for added protection from corrosion.
A dust boot is standard on every Kontrol Pro coilover to protect the damper seal, with the bump stop integrated inside it — more efficient, and less prone to crumbling than a separate bump stop.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
