Product details
The approved application for this CHD010-KP Kontrol Pro kit is the 1989-1991 Honda Civic EF, and the set is sprung at 9.8 kg/mm up front and 5 kg/mm at the rear. The CR-X from 1989 to 1991 is also listed on the same kit, which makes this a sensible check for CR-X owners to run before buying.
Damping is adjusted at one knob per damper across 36 levels, and the adjustable lower mount sets ride height while keeping full shock travel. A monotube, high-pressure body dissipates heat and resists aeration, which helps the damping stay predictable on a lightweight chassis. The collars and upper mounts are 6061-T6 aluminum, and each damper has a dust boot.
Lock each collar with both spanner wrenches, set height at the lower mount, and begin damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff. Camber adjustment is noted for many applications, so confirm it for your car. The Acura Integra from 1990 to 1993 is listed as compatible too, and the fitment checker should be run against the exact car before ordering.
Supported features
Every KSport coilover offers 36 levels of damping adjustment. Set full soft for comfortable daily driving, or firm up the compression and rebound for the track.
Applications with a pillowball upper mount often include camber adjustment — useful for dialing in alignment after lowering, and it removes the need for a separate camber kit.
Applications for MacPherson-strut suspension typically use a pillowball upper mount. The bearing design resists the noise common to other coilovers, and steering feel and response improve.
Most Kontrol Pro applications adjust ride height independently of shock and spring travel, so you can set your stance without risking bottoming out the shock.
Oil and gas stay separated within the cylinder. Compared with twin-tube construction, a monotube design dissipates heat faster and more evenly, allows finer damping adjustment, and resists aeration and cavitation.
Mounts, collars, and spring perches are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum for a lightweight, durable, corrosion-resistant build. Steel shock bodies are zinc-plated for added protection from corrosion.
A dust boot is standard on every Kontrol Pro coilover to protect the damper seal, with the bump stop integrated inside it — more efficient, and less prone to crumbling than a separate bump stop.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
