For the 1995 to 2004 Volvo V40, the Procomp series comes as a front kit with six-piston billet aluminum calipers and 12 inch (304 mm) cross-drilled two-piece rotors. The page says the opposed-piston layout greatly improves pad wear and caliper rigidity compared with OEM, and the two-piece rotors keep weight down.
Unlike the other kits in the line, Procomp ships with SC1 ceramic street pads. These NAOC pads have a stated operating range of 194 to 1022 degrees F and are meant to reduce dust and rotor wear. Stainless braided lines resist expansion for a firmer, quicker pedal. The package also includes the aluminum center bells and mounting hardware.
Cross-drilled rotors suit daily driving, since they run cooler, while the slotted option is better for hard use. Installation
Bolt-on installation with the supplied brackets; no vehicle modification on most applications. After fitting, bed the pads in: on a clear road, ten light-to-medium stops from 30–45 mph, three seconds each, at least a quarter mile apart. Some noise before the brakes warm up is normal for big brake kits.

12-month limited warranty to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship. Racing use, exterior finish and improperly installed or modified parts are not covered; keep your original invoice for any claim. Small surface cracks on cross-drilled rotors are normal wear and not a defect. Replacement pads, rotors, lines and hardware are sold individually.
