Slide Kontrol Drift coilovers are built for the 1991 to 1998 Volvo 940, with front springs rated 10 kg/mm and rear springs rated 8 kg/mm. Four assembled coilovers come sprung and valved for this application. The approved application excludes cars with independent rear suspension, and the front requires welding, so plan for both before you start.
Damping uses 36 levels with one knob per damper, and the shock damping is set roughly 30 to 50 percent stiffer than Kontrol Pro. The 55 mm inverted shock body adds oil capacity and cooling for sustained track sessions. Stiffer spring rates help the car initiate a drift, and helper springs come with some applications.
Steel lower mounts and pillowball top mounts with camber adjustment suit the loads of drifting, and the adjustable lower mount keeps full shock travel while the car is lowered. Establish a baseline at the lower mount before setting camber at the top plate. The 740 is also listed, so verify your year, make and model with the checker and have a professional handle setup and alignment.

Configured with roughly 30–50% stiffer shock damping than Kontrol Pro; stiffer spring rates assist initiation while drifting. Helper springs are included on some applications.
Inverted-type shocks use 55 mm bodies for added oil capacity and cooling efficiency, and perform better under sustained stress at track events.
MacPherson-strut applications use strengthened steel lower mounts for the loads of competitive drifting.
Many MacPherson applications have pillowball upper mounts with camber adjustability — helpful for alignment and removing the need for a separate camber kit.
Oil and gas stay separated within the cylinder for faster heat dissipation, finer damping adjustment, and consistent ride quality.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
