The Kontrol Plus 2-Way coilovers for the 2006 to 2009 Volkswagen Rabbit add a second adjustment axis to the usual damper knob. At the top are 36 levels of damping; at the bottom of the external reservoir are another 24 levels of nitrogen adjustment, and rebound, compression and nitrogen pressure are set independently for 864 possible settings. Spring rates are 10.5 kg/mm front and 6 kg/mm rear, and the series runs 2–3 kg stiffer springs and 60–150% stiffer damping than Kontrol Pro.
That firmness suits a driver who wants sharper response and a tunable platform, and the external reservoirs are standard rather than an add-on. Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
