One requirement stands out on this page: the 2006 to 2009 Volkswagen Rabbit needs adjustable front endlinks, MPN AE0001, in addition to the coilovers. Plan for that part before you start. The Asphalt Rally Spec AR set itself uses 12 kg/mm front and 8 kg/mm rear springs.
The AR design pairs an extended stroke with, on MacPherson applications, an inverted 55 mm shock, where the gas and oil chamber moves away from the knuckle and brakes to reduce heat transfer and unsprung weight. Bodies of 55 mm add oil capacity and cooling for sustained loads. Strengthened steel lower mounts are standard, and damping adjusts compression and rebound together across 36 levels with one knob per damper.
Four assembled coilovers, upper mounts, damping knobs and spanner wrenches are included. Use the adjustable lower mount for height, lock collars with both wrenches and start 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff. Other listed applications are the Golf GTI (2006 to 2009), the 2011 to 2016 Jetta (MK6, excluding rear trailing beam suspension and TDI models) and the 2006 to 2015 Audi A3 (8P1, 2WD). Supported features
Gravel Rally springs range from 250 mm to 270 mm with extended cylinder length and piston stroke, greatly improving handling over uneven and bumpy roads. Height range varies per vehicle and does not exceed OE ride height.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
