Product details
Rear big brake kits are rare, and the Dualcomp for the 1999 to 2005 Volkswagen Golf MK4 1.8T is more unusual still because it keeps a handbrake. Of its four pistons, two handle the foot brake and two run the handbrake on a separate hydraulic circuit, each independent of the other. A polished titanium handbrake cylinder and lever are part of the package. Note that the factory handbrake will not function, so the hydraulic circuit described on the series page matters.
Rotors are 14 inch (356 mm), two-piece and slotted, with aluminum center bells. The page says such rotors are commonly up to 50 percent lighter than OEM rotors of the same size, a gain you notice in unsprung weight. Calipers are one-piece billet aluminum, and the carbon steel brackets locate them at the OEM position. Street pads, braided stainless lines and hardware are supplied.
Wheel fitment deserves a look first: 18 inch or larger is given as a planning rule only, and you should confirm the KSport template against the barrel and spokes. A cross-drilled version, better for daily driving, is also listed. The Jetta from 1999 to 2005 appears in the compatibility list; verify fitment with the year, make and model checker.
Supported features
Two pistons serve the foot brake and two serve the handbrake, each running independently on its own system.
Extremely lightweight two-piece rotors — commonly up to 50% lighter than OEM rotors of the same size.
A polished titanium handbrake cylinder and lever for feel, appearance, and control.
CNC-machined carbon steel brackets let the larger caliper bolt to the OEM caliper bracket location.
Cross-drilled rotors run cooler for daily-driven vehicles; slotted rotors are recommended for more track use.

Installation
Bolt-on installation with the supplied brackets; no vehicle modification on most applications. After fitting, bed the pads in: on a clear road, ten light-to-medium stops from 30–45 mph, three seconds each, at least a quarter mile apart. Some noise before the brakes warm up is normal for big brake kits.
Brake system support and bed-in procedureWarranty & service
12-month limited warranty to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship. Racing use, exterior finish and improperly installed or modified parts are not covered; keep your original invoice for any claim. Small surface cracks on cross-drilled rotors are normal wear and not a defect. Replacement pads, rotors, lines and hardware are sold individually.
