The Kontrol Plus 2-Way coilover is built for the 2021 Toyota 86, with front springs rated 9 kg/mm and rear springs rated 7.5 kg/mm. Four assembled coilovers arrive sprung and valved for this application. The 2-Way design runs 2 to 3 kg stiffer springs and 60 to 150 percent stiffer damping than the Kontrol Pro kit.
Adjustment works on two fronts. Damping offers 36 levels at the top of each assembly, and a standard external reservoir adds 24 nitrogen levels at the bottom. Rebound, compression and nitrogen pressure can be set independently, which gives 864 possible settings. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there.
Advanced pillowball mounts are standard on MacPherson-strut applications and add camber and caster adjustment in place of stock rubber or plastic mounts. Most applications adjust ride height without affecting shock and spring travel. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches, then have a professional complete setup and alignment. Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
