This Kontrol Sport kit covers the 2002-2007 Subaru Impreza WRX, and its valving is listed at 30% stiffer than the Kontrol Pro. Four assembled coilovers come sprung at 9.8 kg/mm up front and 6.1 kg/mm at the rear, matched to the application. For a car that gets driven hard, the firmer valving is the main reason to choose the Kontrol Sport over the standard line.
Adjustment is one knob per damper with 36 levels, so you can settle on a comfortable street setting or a firmer one without changing parts. The adjustable lower mount sets ride height and keeps full shock travel, which matters when the goal is a lower stance on public roads. The monotube, high-pressure body dissipates heat evenly, and the aluminum mounts and collars are 6061-T6 billet.
Set height at the lower mount, lock each collar with both spanner wrenches, and start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff. The WRX STI from 2002 to 2004 is also listed, so confirm the exact model on the year/make/model checker before the alignment appointment.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
