Product details
Owners of the 2008 to 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX (GH8, sedan or hatchback) who want a coilover that handles rough ground can look at the Gravel Rally Spec GR, part number CSB150-GR. Where the street kits are tuned for pavement, this one is shaped around broken surfaces.
Wheel travel is the point of the design. Lengthened stroke and 250 mm to 270 mm springs give the suspension room to work, while the stated height range stays at or below OE ride height. Steel mounts and hardened-rubber pillowballs deal with the repeated impacts of gravel, and the large 55 mm inverted shocks add oil capacity for cooling. Simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment over 36 levels lets you stabilize the car over uneven roads. Rates are 5 kg/mm front and 6.1 kg/mm rear.
Included are the assembled coilovers, damping knobs and spanner wrenches. Set height with the lower mount, lock the collars with both wrenches, and book a professional alignment afterward. The Impreza sedan and hatchback from 2008 to 2016 also appears in the compatible list, so check your exact car with the year/make/model tool first.
Supported features
Gravel Rally springs range from 250 mm to 270 mm with extended cylinder length and piston stroke, greatly improving handling over uneven and bumpy roads. Height range varies per vehicle and does not exceed OE ride height.
Asphalt Rally uses inverted shocks on many MacPherson applications, moving the gas/oil chamber away from the knuckle and brakes to reduce heat transfer and unsprung weight.
Strengthened steel lower mounts are standard on MacPherson applications; Gravel Rally adds heavy-duty steel upper mounts on most applications. Wishbone and multi-link applications use the standard aluminum mounts.
Gravel Rally kits use unique hardened-rubber pillowball top mounts on MacPherson applications to absorb repeated impacts from loose surfaces.
Simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment across 36 levels, with carefully selected per-application spring rates and damping to stabilize the car over uneven roads.
Inverted applications use 55 mm bodies for added oil capacity and cooling under sustained stage loads.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
