Product details
This is a rear-axle upgrade for the 2003 to 2012 Saab 9-3, covering the 1.8T, 2.0T, 2.0T Aero and 2.8T Aero. Part number BKSA020-432CO uses 4-piston calipers and 13 in cross-drilled two-piece rotors, and it suits an owner who has already dealt with the front and wants the back to share the load.
The calipers use opposed pistons, which the page credits with improved pad wear and rigidity over the factory part. Cross-drilled rotors run cooler and are recommended for daily drivers, while slotted rotors are recommended for more track use and are sold under a different part number. The kit includes SC1 street pads, stainless braided lines, caliper brackets and hardware. NAOC ceramic pads help reduce dust and rotor wear.
There is one important caveat: the OEM handbrake will not function with this kit, so plan for that before buying. Installation is bolt-on with the supplied brackets. After fitting, bed the pads in with ten light-to-medium stops from 30 to 45 mph, three seconds each, at least a quarter mile apart; some noise before the brakes warm up is normal. Verify fitment with the year/make/model checker.
Supported features
Lightweight 6-pot aluminum calipers are standard on 11 in and 12 in front systems; 8-pot calipers on 13 in and 14 in. The opposed-piston design greatly improves pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM.
Lightweight 2-pot aluminum calipers are standard on 11 in and 12 in rear kits; 4-pot on 13 in and 14 in systems.
Two-piece rotors provide light weight, fade-free performance and grip on the track with comfortable, easy operation under normal driving.
CNC-machined carbon steel brackets let the larger calipers bolt to the OEM caliper bracket location.
Cross-drilled rotors run cooler and are recommended for daily-driven vehicles; slotted rotors are recommended for vehicles that see more track use.
NAOC ceramic street pads (194–1022°F operating range) reduce dust and rotor wear; DOT-compliant stainless braided lines resist expansion for a firmer, quicker pedal.
Standard painted orange, red, black, and yellow; premium high-polish silver, gold, and titanium; glassy and hard-anodized finishes; over 20,000 custom colors on request.

Some noise before the brakes warm up is normal for big brake kits.
Brake system support and bed-in procedureWarranty & service
12-month limited warranty to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship. Racing use, exterior finish and improperly installed or modified parts are not covered; keep your original invoice for any claim. Small surface cracks on cross-drilled rotors are normal wear and not a defect. Replacement pads, rotors, lines and hardware are sold individually.
