Product details

Asphalt Rally Spec AR gives the 2009 to 2018 Nissan 370Z a coilover with extra stroke instead of a pure track-day stiffness. The extended shock stroke is paired with 14 kg/mm front and 8.7 kg/mm rear springs, and the rear is a true coilover, according to the application note.

Shocks on many MacPherson cars are inverted, which puts the gas and oil chamber up and away from the knuckle and brakes. The page says this cuts heat transfer and unsprung weight, while a 55 mm body adds oil capacity and cooling for sustained loads. Strengthened steel lower mounts are standard on MacPherson applications.

Compression and rebound change together across 36 levels, and each damper has its own knob. Begin at 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff, then work from there. Lower the car at the adjustable lower mount and lock each collar with both wrenches. You get four assembled coilovers valved for this application, upper mounts with camber adjustment on the front, knobs and wrenches. Alignment by a professional is required. A long list of Infiniti G and Q models is also shown, plus other 370Z years; verify fitment with the year, make and model checker.

Supported features
Extended Shock Stroke & Springs

Gravel Rally springs range from 250 mm to 270 mm with extended cylinder length and piston stroke, greatly improving handling over uneven and bumpy roads. Height range varies per vehicle and does not exceed OE ride height.

Inverted Steel Shock Absorber

Asphalt Rally uses inverted shocks on many MacPherson applications, moving the gas/oil chamber away from the knuckle and brakes to reduce heat transfer and unsprung weight.

Heavy-Duty Steel Mounts

Strengthened steel lower mounts are standard on MacPherson applications; Gravel Rally adds heavy-duty steel upper mounts on most applications. Wishbone and multi-link applications use the standard aluminum mounts.

Hardened Rubber Pillowball

Gravel Rally kits use unique hardened-rubber pillowball top mounts on MacPherson applications to absorb repeated impacts from loose surfaces.

36-Way Adjustable Damping

Simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment across 36 levels, with carefully selected per-application spring rates and damping to stabilize the car over uneven roads.

Large 55 mm Shock Bodies

Inverted applications use 55 mm bodies for added oil capacity and cooling under sustained stage loads.

Installation

Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
