Product details
The Version RR Road Race coilover fits a 1994 to 1998 Mitsubishi Galant that sees fast corners and hard stops. Four assembled coilovers come sprung and valved for this application, with 24.8 kg/mm springs up front and 18.6 kg/mm at the rear.
Thirty-six levels of damping sit on each damper. The shock stroke is 20 to 30 mm shorter than a street kit, and upgraded bumpstops help stop the shock bottoming out over bumps. Custom spring rates are available, and the shocks are valved to whichever rates you select.
Aluminum mounts, collars and spring perches are 6061-T6 billet, and the pillowball top mounts on MacPherson fronts are designed to cut noise and improve steering response. Set ride height on the lower mount, lock each collar, and have the car aligned after installation. Verify fit with the year, make and model checker. Also listed for this system is the 1995 to 1999 Eclipse.
Supported features
36 levels of damping adjustment. Set full soft for a comfortable cruising setting for normal driving.
Version RR kits include upgraded bumpstops to prevent the shock from bottoming out over uneven pavement or harsh road conditions.
Aggressive spring rates and valving with a 20–30 mm shorter shock stroke. Choose proven spring rates or your own custom rates; the shocks are valved to what you select.
Many MacPherson applications have pillowball upper mounts; the patented bearing design combats noise and improves steering feel and response.
Oil and gas stay separated within the cylinder for faster heat dissipation, finer damping adjustment, and consistent ride quality.
Mounts, collars, and spring perches are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum; steel shock bodies are zinc-plated for added protection from corrosion.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
