The Version DR Drag Race kit for a 1998 to 2003 Mitsubishi Galant is built for the drag strip, with four assembled coilovers sprung and valved for the application. The front spring rate is 6.7 and the rear spring rate is 8.7, and the rates are application-specific.
Damping runs across 36 levels on each damper, from a soft setting for the cruise between passes to firmer settings for launches. Valving is custom for each kit, and the Version RR road-race system is the base. The front upper mount is a pillowball with camber adjustment, while the rear upper mount is an aluminum mount without camber adjustment.
Set ride height at the adjustable lower mount, lock every collar, and begin damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff. The patented bearing in the pillowball mount is designed to reduce noise and sharpen steering feel. Check fit with the year, make and model checker before ordering. Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
