For the 1995 to 1998 Mazda Protege, the Airtech Basic bundles four application-specific air struts with 36-way damping and adjustable lower mounts. Mazda 323 cars of those years are also listed.
Manual paddle valves run the front and rear bags, with a dual-needle 200 psi gauge beside the valves. A single Viair 444C compressor fills a 5-gallon black steel tank, and the car can be lifted in 4 to 7 seconds on Basic and Deluxe. The gauge mounts beside the valves, so pressure is always visible while you adjust the car.
Use the year, make and model checker to confirm fit. Hoses, wiring and manuals are included, and professional installation is recommended. After 500 miles or one month, recheck the system and check each fitting for leaks at 70 psi with soapy water. Keep the installation manuals close at hand while you work, since they come with the kit.
Supported features
36 levels of damping adjustment let you dial in the air struts. Insert the included damping knob and turn softer (counterclockwise) or stiffer (clockwise).
Air bags are engineered to match the vehicle. Sleeve-type and double-bellow bags are used depending on the OEM suspension design.
Like KSport coilovers, the struts allow fine-tuning of ride height at any pressure through an adjustable lower mount.
Chosen for reliability and performance; the single 444C can raise the car from lowest to maximum height in as little as four seconds. Airtech Basic and Deluxe raise in 4–7 seconds; Pro Plus and Executive raise faster, in 2–5 seconds.
Paddle valves control front and rear bags; the dual-needle gauge mounts beside the switches so pressure is always visible.
Camber-adjustable top mounts can be added on certain MacPherson-strut applications.
