The Kontrol Sport coilover for the 1993 to 1997 Mazda 626 is a monotube, high-pressure design with 36 levels of damping adjustment. Front springs are 8.7 kg/mm and rear springs are 5.3 kg/mm, and the valving runs 30 percent stiffer than the Kontrol Pro.
Ride height is set at the adjustable lower mount, which keeps full shock travel while lowering. Where the application has no lower mount, a spring perch does the job instead. Monotube construction keeps oil and gas apart inside the cylinder, which helps the damper shed heat and hold its adjustment consistently.
The Kontrol Sport kit is also listed for the 1993 to 1997 Mazda MX-6 and the Ford Probe. Four assembled coilovers come with spanner wrenches and damping knobs, so the setup tools are already in the box. Use the year, make and model checker to match the 626 before buying.

Many MacPherson-strut applications use pillowball top mounts front and rear, installing to OEM specifications. The patented mount adds adjustability, combats noise, and sharpens steering feel and response.
Most applications adjust ride height without losing suspension travel, so you reach the height you want without bottoming out the shock. Separate rear shock-and-spring applications adjust at the spring perch and lower mount.
KSport's advanced upper pillowball mount is available on many applications, giving separate camber and caster adjustment for alignment work and removing the need for a separate camber kit.
Mounts, collars, and spring perches are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum for a lightweight, durable, corrosion-resistant build. Steel shock bodies are zinc-plated for added protection from corrosion.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
