The Slimline kit is built for wheels without much room, and the 1992 to 2000 Lexus SC400 (JZZ30) is a good candidate. Its three-piston calipers keep the look of a multi-piston design while fitting behind limited clearance. They are one-piece billet aluminum and clamp 13.8 inch (350 mm) two-piece slotted rotors, which the page says are commonly up to 50 percent lighter than OEM rotors of the same size.
The front-axle box has two calipers, two rotors with aluminum center bells, SC5 street pads, stainless-steel braided lines, CNC-machined carbon steel brackets and hardware. The brackets let the calipers bolt to the OEM caliper location, and the kit works with the OEM master cylinder and ABS. Note that the OEM handbrake will not function with this kit.
After fitting, bed the pads in on a clear road: ten light-to-medium stops from 30 to 45 mph, three seconds each, at least a quarter mile apart. Some noise before the brakes warm up is normal. Slotted rotors suit track use, while a cross-drilled version is listed for daily driving. The SC300 is also listed, so verify fitment with the year, make and model checker.
