Owners of a 1998 to 2005 Lexus GS430 (JZS161) who run the quarter mile will find the Version DR kit built for that job. Each of the four assembled coilovers is sprung and valved for this chassis, using 24.8 kg/mm front and 7.5 kg/mm rear springs, and the rear is set well below the front.
Version DR starts from the Version RR road-race system, with valving customized per kit for drag racing. The 36-level damping knob on each damper moves you from a comfortable cruise setting toward firmer settings for the launch. An adjustable lower mount sets ride height without cutting into shock travel, and the pillowball top mounts on MacPherson-strut fronts are meant to cut noise and sharpen steering response.
Because this kit is tuned for straight-line work, the small steps matter. Both spanner wrenches are needed to lock every collar, the damping starting point is 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff, and a shop should align the car once it is installed. Check fit against the year, make and model checker before ordering.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
