Hand-operated air ride is the heart of the Airtech Basic kit for the 2012 to 2015 Kia Optima. Two paddle valves move the front and rear bags separately, and a dual-needle 200 psi gauge shows both pressures at a glance, so a few seconds at the switches gets the sedan to the height you want.
The system is complete, with four application-specific struts, a Viair 444C compressor, a 5-gallon black steel tank, hoses, wiring and manuals. Struts have 36-way damping adjusted with the included knob, and the adjustable lower mounts let you fine-tune height whatever the pressure. Air bag styles are matched to the OEM design. Basic and Deluxe kits raise in 4 to 7 seconds, and the 444C alone can go from lowest to maximum in as little as four. The compatibility list includes a Hyundai Sonata entry as well. Check your car with the fitment checker, and plan for professional installation and a recheck after the first 500 miles or one month.
Supported features
36 levels of damping adjustment let you dial in the air struts. Insert the included damping knob and turn softer (counterclockwise) or stiffer (clockwise).
Air bags are engineered to match the vehicle. Sleeve-type and double-bellow bags are used depending on the OEM suspension design.
Like KSport coilovers, the struts allow fine-tuning of ride height at any pressure through an adjustable lower mount.
Chosen for reliability and performance; the single 444C can raise the car from lowest to maximum height in as little as four seconds. Airtech Basic and Deluxe raise in 4–7 seconds; Pro Plus and Executive raise faster, in 2–5 seconds.
Paddle valves control front and rear bags; the dual-needle gauge mounts beside the switches so pressure is always visible.
Camber-adjustable top mounts can be added on certain MacPherson-strut applications.
