Product details
The Asphalt Rally Spec AR (CHD011-AR) is the 1988 Honda CR-X EF setup with eyelet rear shock. Springs are rated 16 kg/mm front and 8.7 kg/mm rear, and four assembled coilovers arrive sprung and valved for this application. The AR build is an extended-stroke design, with an inverted 55 mm shock on MacPherson applications.
Because the oil and gas chamber sits away from the knuckle and brakes, heat is shed more readily and the wheel carries less unsprung mass. The large body adds oil volume, which helps when the car sees sustained use. Damping has 36 levels, with one knob per damper.
Ride height is set on the adjustable lower mount, and the spring perch takes over where there is no lower mount. Pillowball upper mounts with camber adjustment appear on MacPherson fronts. The Civic EF with eyelet rear shock is also listed, so verify fitment with the year/make/model checker.
Supported features
Gravel Rally springs range from 250 mm to 270 mm with extended cylinder length and piston stroke, greatly improving handling over uneven and bumpy roads. Height range varies per vehicle and does not exceed OE ride height.
Asphalt Rally uses inverted shocks on many MacPherson applications, moving the gas/oil chamber away from the knuckle and brakes to reduce heat transfer and unsprung weight.
Strengthened steel lower mounts are standard on MacPherson applications; Gravel Rally adds heavy-duty steel upper mounts on most applications. Wishbone and multi-link applications use the standard aluminum mounts.
Gravel Rally kits use unique hardened-rubber pillowball top mounts on MacPherson applications to absorb repeated impacts from loose surfaces.
Simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment across 36 levels, with carefully selected per-application spring rates and damping to stabilize the car over uneven roads.
Inverted applications use 55 mm bodies for added oil capacity and cooling under sustained stage loads.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
