Product details
The 2008 to 2012 Honda Accord with the 6 cyl. engine gets its own Kontrol Pro coilover set here, part number CHD231-KP. It suits the owner who wants a lower, tidier stance without giving up a livable ride, and the 36-way damping is what makes that compromise workable.
Springs are rated 18.6 kg/mm in front and 7.2 kg/mm in the rear. Ride height is set at the adjustable lower mount, so you can drop the car without costing the damper any travel. Turn the knobs toward soft for the commute and toward firm for a spirited road or a track day. The monotube dampers are rebuildable, and the front uses a pillowball upper mount with camber adjustment, which helps you bring alignment back after lowering.
The box holds four assembled coilovers sprung and valved for this application, the upper mounts, damping knobs and spanner wrenches. Plan on a professional install and alignment. The page also lists the 2010 to 2015 Accord Crosstour and the 2009 to 2013 Acura TSX, so run the year/make/model checker to verify fitment for your own car.
Supported features
Every KSport coilover offers 36 levels of damping adjustment. Set full soft for comfortable daily driving, or firm up the compression and rebound for the track.
Applications with a pillowball upper mount often include camber adjustment — useful for dialing in alignment after lowering, and it removes the need for a separate camber kit.
Applications for MacPherson-strut suspension typically use a pillowball upper mount. The bearing design resists the noise common to other coilovers, and steering feel and response improve.
Most Kontrol Pro applications adjust ride height independently of shock and spring travel, so you can set your stance without risking bottoming out the shock.
Oil and gas stay separated within the cylinder. Compared with twin-tube construction, a monotube design dissipates heat faster and more evenly, allows finer damping adjustment, and resists aeration and cavitation.
Mounts, collars, and spring perches are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum for a lightweight, durable, corrosion-resistant build. Steel shock bodies are zinc-plated for added protection from corrosion.
A dust boot is standard on every Kontrol Pro coilover to protect the damper seal, with the bump stop integrated inside it — more efficient, and less prone to crumbling than a separate bump stop.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
