Lowering a 1990 to 1997 Honda Accord used to mean choosing between ride quality and looks, and the Kontrol Pro coilovers aim to remove that compromise. Front springs are rated 14 kg/mm and rear springs 7.2 kg/mm, and the monotube high-pressure damper keeps oil and gas apart, so heat leaves the damper faster than in twin-tube designs and damping adjustment can be finer.
Adjustment is straightforward. Thirty-six damping levels run from full soft for comfortable daily driving to firmer compression and rebound for the track. The lower mount changes ride height without altering shock and spring travel, which keeps you away from bottoming out the shock, and pillowball upper mounts with camber adjustment may be included on MacPherson applications. A dust boot with an integrated bump stop protects the seal.
Your order contains four assembled coilovers, upper mounts, damping knobs and spanner wrenches. Lock the collars with both wrenches, and start from 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff. Professional alignment is required. The Acura CL (1997 to 1999) is shown as compatible, but check your own car using the fitment checker.

Most Kontrol Pro applications adjust ride height independently of shock and spring travel, so you can set your stance without risking bottoming out the shock.
Oil and gas stay separated within the cylinder. Compared with twin-tube construction, a monotube design dissipates heat faster and more evenly, allows finer damping adjustment, and resists aeration and cavitation.
Mounts, collars, and spring perches are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum for a lightweight, durable, corrosion-resistant build. Steel shock bodies are zinc-plated for added protection from corrosion.
A dust boot is standard on every Kontrol Pro coilover to protect the damper seal, with the bump stop integrated inside it — more efficient, and less prone to crumbling than a separate bump stop.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
