Product details
Asphalt Rally Spec AR is for drivers who want a 1990 to 1997 Honda Accord to feel tied down on tarmac. The series uses an extended shock stroke and, on many MacPherson applications, an inverted 55 mm shock. Inverting the body moves the gas and oil chamber away from the knuckle and brakes, which cuts heat transfer and unsprung weight, and the larger body adds oil capacity for sustained hard use.
Spring rates are 18 kg/mm in front and 8.7 kg/mm in the rear, a front-biased setup that suits quick turn-in. Damping is 36-way with one knob per damper, compression and rebound adjusting together. Begin at 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff. The adjustable lower mount sets height while retaining full shock travel, and strengthened steel lower mounts are standard on MacPherson cars.
Your box has four assembled coilovers valved for this application, pillowball upper mounts with camber adjustment on the fronts, knobs and spanner wrenches. Use both wrenches to lock collars. Setup and alignment should be done professionally; set baseline camber at the lower-mount hole, then refine at the upper plate. Acura CL years also appear in the listing, so verify fitment with the year, make and model checker.
Supported features
Gravel Rally springs range from 250 mm to 270 mm with extended cylinder length and piston stroke, greatly improving handling over uneven and bumpy roads. Height range varies per vehicle and does not exceed OE ride height.
Asphalt Rally uses inverted shocks on many MacPherson applications, moving the gas/oil chamber away from the knuckle and brakes to reduce heat transfer and unsprung weight.
Strengthened steel lower mounts are standard on MacPherson applications; Gravel Rally adds heavy-duty steel upper mounts on most applications. Wishbone and multi-link applications use the standard aluminum mounts.
Gravel Rally kits use unique hardened-rubber pillowball top mounts on MacPherson applications to absorb repeated impacts from loose surfaces.
Simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment across 36 levels, with carefully selected per-application spring rates and damping to stabilize the car over uneven roads.
Inverted applications use 55 mm bodies for added oil capacity and cooling under sustained stage loads.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
