Kontrol Sport is the coilover for the 2016-2017 BMW M5, the approved application for CBM240-SP. Springs are rated 14 kg/mm front and 7.5 kg/mm rear, and the valving is 30% stiffer than the Kontrol Pro, so this is the firmer of the two. Four assembled coilovers arrive sprung and valved for this car.
Monotube construction keeps oil and gas separated inside the cylinder, so the damper sheds heat more evenly and allows finer damping adjustment. The 36 levels of adjustment change compression and rebound together, which keeps setup changes simple to make and easy to notice. Set the knob to suit daily driving or a stiffer track setting.
Ride height is set on the adjustable lower mount, which keeps full shock travel while the car sits lower. The pillowball upper mount offers separate camber and caster adjustment for alignment work. The mounts and collars are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum, and the steel shock bodies are zinc-plated. The kit is also listed for 2011-2015 BMW M5 F10 and for 5 Series applications, including the 528i, 535i and 550i; confirm fitment with the year/make/model checker.

36 levels of damping adjustment let you dial the system in for handling and comfort. Adjustment alters compression and rebound together for effective, user-friendly setup changes.
Oil and gas stay separated within the cylinder. Compared with twin-tube construction, a monotube dissipates heat faster and more evenly, allows finer damping adjustment, and resists aeration and cavitation for consistent ride quality.
Many MacPherson-strut applications use pillowball top mounts front and rear, installing to OEM specifications. The patented mount adds adjustability, combats noise, and sharpens steering feel and response.
Most applications adjust ride height without losing suspension travel, so you reach the height you want without bottoming out the shock. Separate rear shock-and-spring applications adjust at the spring perch and lower mount.
KSport's advanced upper pillowball mount is available on many applications, giving separate camber and caster adjustment for alignment work and removing the need for a separate camber kit.
Mounts, collars, and spring perches are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum for a lightweight, durable, corrosion-resistant build. Steel shock bodies are zinc-plated for added protection from corrosion.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
