Product details
Version RR Road Race coilovers are built for the 1995-1999 BMW M3 E36 owner who spends time on a circuit. Four assembled coilovers arrive sprung and valved for this application, with 16 kg/mm springs up front and 18 kg/mm at the rear. Race rates are aggressive, and custom rates are available if the standard ones do not suit your car.
Stroke is 20-30 mm shorter than street kits, and the valving is set to the spring rates you pick. Upgraded shock bumpstops guard against the shock bottoming out over uneven pavement or harsh road conditions. Each damper has 36 levels of damping adjustment on its knob, and full soft still gives a calm cruise on the drive to the track.
The pillowball top mount on MacPherson fronts adjusts camber, which helps alignment after lowering. Billet 6061-T6 aluminum forms the mounts, collars and spring perches, and the steel shock bodies get zinc plating. Ride height is set on the adjustable lower mount wherever it is fitted, and this M3 setup is also listed for 1992-1998 BMW 3 Series RWD 323i, 325i and 328i models.
Supported features
36 levels of damping adjustment. Set full soft for a comfortable cruising setting for normal driving.
Version RR kits include upgraded bumpstops to prevent the shock from bottoming out over uneven pavement or harsh road conditions.
Aggressive spring rates and valving with a 20–30 mm shorter shock stroke. Choose proven spring rates or your own custom rates; the shocks are valved to what you select.
Many MacPherson applications have pillowball upper mounts; the patented bearing design combats noise and improves steering feel and response.
Oil and gas stay separated within the cylinder for faster heat dissipation, finer damping adjustment, and consistent ride quality.
Mounts, collars, and spring perches are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum; steel shock bodies are zinc-plated for added protection from corrosion.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
