Kontrol Sport fits the 2012-2018 BMW 6 Series F06 Gran Coupe RWD, which is the approved application for CBM271-SP. Springs are rated 16 kg/mm front and 8.7 kg/mm rear, and the valving is 30% stiffer than the Kontrol Pro. Each coilover arrives sprung and valved for this car, with 36 levels of adjustment on one knob per damper.
The body is monotube, with oil and gas separated inside the cylinder for faster heat dissipation, finer damping adjustment and consistent ride quality. Adjustment changes compression and rebound together, so each setting change is simple to make and easy to notice on the road. Excluding M models keeps the fitment focused on the Gran Coupe line.
Ride height is set on the adjustable lower mount, and where the application has no lower mount the spring perch does that job. The upper mount is KSport's advanced pillowball design, which on many applications gives separate camber and caster adjustment, so alignment work can be done without a separate camber kit. The billet 6061-T6 aluminum mounts and collars are corrosion-resistant, and the steel shock bodies carry zinc plating. Run the year/make/model checker on your car before you commit to this set.

36 levels of damping adjustment let you dial the system in for handling and comfort. Adjustment alters compression and rebound together for effective, user-friendly setup changes.
Oil and gas stay separated within the cylinder. Compared with twin-tube construction, a monotube dissipates heat faster and more evenly, allows finer damping adjustment, and resists aeration and cavitation for consistent ride quality.
Many MacPherson-strut applications use pillowball top mounts front and rear, installing to OEM specifications. The patented mount adds adjustability, combats noise, and sharpens steering feel and response.
Most applications adjust ride height without losing suspension travel, so you reach the height you want without bottoming out the shock. Separate rear shock-and-spring applications adjust at the spring perch and lower mount.
KSport's advanced upper pillowball mount is available on many applications, giving separate camber and caster adjustment for alignment work and removing the need for a separate camber kit.
Mounts, collars, and spring perches are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum for a lightweight, durable, corrosion-resistant build. Steel shock bodies are zinc-plated for added protection from corrosion.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
