Kontrol Pro coilovers for the 2006-2011 BMW 3 Series sedan arrive as four assembled units, sprung and valved for this application. Front springs are rated 9 kg/mm and rear springs 11.5 kg/mm, so the rear carries the firmer rate on this car.
Each damper has a knob for 36 levels of damping adjustment, with full soft giving comfortable daily driving and firmer settings sharpening things for the track. The monotube high-pressure body dissipates heat faster and more evenly than twin-tube construction. A dust boot is standard, with the bump stop integrated inside it to protect the damper seal.
On MacPherson-strut fronts the pillowball upper mount includes camber adjustment, and the adjustable lower mount lets you lower the car without losing shock travel. Mounts, collars and spring perches are 6061-T6 billet aluminum. Also listed for 2008-2011 BMW 1 Series RWD cars with 128i, 135i, 135is and cabrio bodies, and for 2012-2013 BMW 3 Series cars.

Oil and gas stay separated within the cylinder. Compared with twin-tube construction, a monotube design dissipates heat faster and more evenly, allows finer damping adjustment, and resists aeration and cavitation.
Mounts, collars, and spring perches are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum for a lightweight, durable, corrosion-resistant build. Steel shock bodies are zinc-plated for added protection from corrosion.
A dust boot is standard on every Kontrol Pro coilover to protect the damper seal, with the bump stop integrated inside it — more efficient, and less prone to crumbling than a separate bump stop.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
