The Airtech Basic for the 2012-2013 BMW 3 Series is a complete system built on four application-specific struts with 36-way damping and adjustable lower mounts. A Viair 444C compressor, a 5-gallon black steel tank and manual paddle valves with a dual-needle 200 psi gauge round out the package.
Paddle valves control the front and rear bags, and the gauge sits beside the switches so pressure stays visible. Height range is 0-120/200 mm depending on the vehicle. Raise time on Basic and Deluxe is 4-7 seconds, while Pro Plus and Executive are quicker at 2-5 seconds.
Adjustable lower mounts let you fine-tune ride height at any pressure, and the damping knob runs 36 levels, softer counterclockwise and stiffer clockwise. Camber-adjustable top mounts can be added on certain MacPherson-strut applications. The kit is also listed for 2006-2011 BMW 3 Series sedans with the 325i, 328i, 330i, 335i, 335d and 335is, and for 2008-2011 BMW 1 Series 128i, 135i and 135is models including the cabrio.
Supported features
36 levels of damping adjustment let you dial in the air struts. Insert the included damping knob and turn softer (counterclockwise) or stiffer (clockwise).
Air bags are engineered to match the vehicle. Sleeve-type and double-bellow bags are used depending on the OEM suspension design.
Like KSport coilovers, the struts allow fine-tuning of ride height at any pressure through an adjustable lower mount.
Chosen for reliability and performance; the single 444C can raise the car from lowest to maximum height in as little as four seconds. Airtech Basic and Deluxe raise in 4–7 seconds; Pro Plus and Executive raise faster, in 2–5 seconds.
Paddle valves control front and rear bags; the dual-needle gauge mounts beside the switches so pressure is always visible.
Camber-adjustable top mounts can be added on certain MacPherson-strut applications.
