This Kontrol Pro set is for the 2000-2002 Audi S4 B5. Four assembled coilovers arrive already sprung and valved for the application, with front springs at 12 kg/mm and rear springs at 9 kg/mm. The two rates sit close together, so the car's handling balance stays fairly even.
Each damper has a knob for 36 levels of adjustment. Set it soft for comfortable daily driving, or add compression and rebound for a more focused setup on track days. The body is a monotube, high-pressure damper that keeps oil and gas separated, and it dissipates heat more evenly than twin-tube construction.
Mounts, collars and spring perches are 6061-T6 billet aluminum, and the steel shock bodies are zinc-plated. A dust boot with the bump stop integrated protects the seal. Where the application uses a MacPherson-strut front, the upper mount is a pillowball with camber adjustment. This system is also listed for 1996-2001 Audi A4 Quattro B5 AWD cars.

A dust boot is standard on every Kontrol Pro coilover to protect the damper seal, with the bump stop integrated inside it — more efficient, and less prone to crumbling than a separate bump stop.

Installation
Set ride height with the adjustable lower mount where the application has one; use the spring perch only where the application-specific layout has no adjustable lower mount. Lock every collar with both spanner wrenches. Start damping 18 clicks counterclockwise from full stiff and adjust from there. Professional setup and alignment are required after installation; on MacPherson fronts, establish baseline camber at the elongated lower-mount hole before fine adjustment at the upper plate.
