The Ksport Kontrol Plus 2-Way Coilovers for Volkswagen Golf provide the ultimate in adjustability for enthusiasts and professionals seeking the maximum in performance and durability. With years of engineering, testing and development, this coilover system has been perfected in virtually every facet of motorsports, ranging from drifting to time attack or circuit driving.
The key component to these coilovers is the utilization of remote reservoirs that provide separate adjustments for rebound and compression, as well as nitrogen gas pressure. Additionally, added oil capacity provided by the remote reservoirs increase the system’s ability to dissipate heat, which leads to improved performance over long periods such as endurance or tarmac racing, in addition to consistent performance throughout long heat cycles. These features, paired with 55mm monotube shocks, ensure maximum durability and consistent performance. A variety of external hardware components are available on the Kontrol Plus 2-Way Coilovers to completely customize the system to your vehicle. When fitting this kit to your vehicle, upper mounts are available in rubber form, pillowball or Ksport’s award winning advanced pillowball mounts that offer camber and caster adjustment. Each system has been dyno tested individually. With over 864 possible settings the Kontrol Plus 2-Way Coilovers provide the ultimate in suspension performance for your Volkswagen Golf.
Our Kontrol Plus damper kits come standard with external reservoirs which allow adjustment of rebound, compression and nitrogen pressure independently. With 864 possible settings, it is possible to leave no stone unturned in the quest for ultimate performance for your vehicles suspension kit. *Note: certain vehicles may only have front reservoirs if the vehicle does not have enough allotted space to fit a reservoir in the rear.
Kontrol Plus 2-Way coilovers offer 36 levels of damping adjustment via the top of the assembly and an additional 24 levels of nitrogen adjustments via the bottom of the reservoir.
Aerospace Quality Aluminum Components
Most pieces in our Coilover systems, including mounts, collars and spring perches, are designed from 6061-T6 Billet Aluminum resulting in lightweight, durable and rust resistant components. Steel shock bodies are electroplated with Zinc to resist rust and protect from the elements. In addition, kits include an anti-rust paste packet that can be applied to key areas of the coilover for added protection.
Advanced Pillowball Mounts
Standard issue on McPherson type vehicles are our advanced pillowball mounts which allow camber and caster adjustment for fine tuning your alignment specs. These mounts allow for both camber and caster adjustment for the ability to dial in your suspension geometry to your needs. These mounts replace the stock rubber or plastic mounts to reduce flex and improve performance. The angle of the contact patch of the tire is changed improving handling when installed on the coilover. *Note: Not all pillowball mounts offer camber/camber adjustment.
Adjustable Lower Mount Allowing for Maximum Suspension Travel
Most of our coilovers feature the ability to adjust your ride height without affecting the shock and spring travel. This way you can set your desired ride height without having to worry about bottoming out the shock.
Most of our applications for vehicles with McPherson type suspension will have the ability to adjust camber via the top mounts. This is extremely helpful when you need to dial in your camber for reduced tire wear or add more negative camber to aid in aggressive wheel and tire fitments. NOTE: Camber adjustment is not available on all models with pillowball upper mounts.
Monotube High Pressure Design Reduces Oil Leakage
The Ksport Kontrol Plus 2-Way Coilover systems utilize a Monotube design, with oil and gas separated within the cylinder. When compared to twin tube construction, the Monotube design dissipates heat faster and more evenly and allows for finer damping adjustments. Aeration and cavitation issues are a lot less common in a Monotube design, resulting in a more consistent ride quality.
Adjustable Spring Perch for Height Adjustment
Most applications utilize an adjustable lower mount which means height adjustability without losing suspension travel. Users can easily achieve desired ride height without worrying about bottoming out the shock. For vehicles that have a separate rear shock and spring, or a “hi-low kit”, height adjustment is available via the spring perch and the lower mount of the shock. This allows vehicles with this type of set up to still go as low, if not lower, than true coilovers.
Dust Boot to Protect Damper Seal
Dust boots are standard on all coilovers. We also integrate the bump stop inside the dust boot. This is more efficient and is less likely to crumble to pieces and deteriorate like other designs.
12 Month Limited Warranty
Ksport Kontrol Plus 2-Way coilovers come standard with a 12-month warranty which covers manufacturer defects.
